Sept 18th - The passing of queen Elizabeth the II

In the days Leading up to the funeral procession I felt it important to visit London, not only to pay respects but to also document as much as I could. At the time I had only just graduated university in BA Photography. I also have family history with the royal family being that on both sides of my family having an extensive military history.

My dads mother Gladys Fiveash who passed in 2018 always claimed to have served with both Elizabeth and her sister The princess Margret In WW2 saying she used to attend church with them every Sunday, her role apparently to protect the princesses encase of any form of attack.

On my mother side my great Aunt Olive met Elizabeth on three separate accessions while she worked in London as a midwife. My mums father served as a royal Scott's guard which has always baffled us as I'm sure we don't have much Scottish history in the family, maybe its time for an ancestry test haha.

Finally my father swore elegance to the crown during his time as a Royal Marine and the again as a police constable.

Both me and my parents journeyed to London on the 18th of Sept to lay flowers in the royal gardens for the queen. I was very lucky to see many foreign diplomats Come to pay respects to her outside the houses of parliament in her final day of lying in state.
